communicating change, and so on. This course project delves into each of these aspects and

These are the four companies each team can choose among for their project:

Each one of these companies have undergone major change involving leadership driven

change, within the last five years.


SECTION 1: Initial Companies under Review

Company Overview

[Instructions: Initially choose two companies for comparison from the list above. Provide a brief biographical description of the companies including their business and market focus, and a brief history about their founding.]

[Instructions: Identify the nature of the “change” and/or Problem area you are focusing on for comparison of those two companies.]

Change Model and Analysis

[Instructions: (a) Choose one Diagnostic Model (i.e. 6-box, 7S, congruence, or etc.) to apply to your one chosen company. Choose the model which you feel best identifies and measures the relevant aspects of the organization’s performance and therefore the diagnostic choices made will affect your findings. (b) Apply the data obtained in your research through an analysis of the

appropriate chosen model. This will allow you to create a diagnosis of where the company is today (as per the criteria of the model).]


TOWS Analysis

[Instructions: (a) Create a TOWS Analysis matrix for one chosen company change plans/programs, utilizing information obtained in the diagnosis. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.) . Then discuss the analyses and offer your perspective (value judgment) of the effectiveness of the changes made to date in the case.]

Resistance Areas

[Instructions: Identify potential areas of resistance that may occur. (b) Develop and describe at least one strategy and recommendation to respond to your company. (This will most likely come

from your Weaknesses/Threats section of your TOWS Analysis).]

SECTION 4: Implementing Change Strategy

[Instructions: Based on research regarding your chosen single company, (a) Analyze the process that was employed in terms of which approach (Change Management or Organization Development) was used; (b) Describe the elements of the method that was used under that specific Implementation Approach.

SECTION 5: Communicating Change

[Instructions: Use the Communications Plan Matrix Template to develop your communications plan for the company. “Cut and paste” your completed communication plan matrix into the final document.]
